Privacy policy

Last updated 30 September 2026

This policy explains what personal data Playmade Studio collects, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It covers this website, our demo games, the games we host for shops, and how we contact shops.

1. Who is responsible

Itai Bar-Sinai, trading as Playmade Studio, a sole trader based in Israel, is responsible for the data described here. Contact: [email protected].

2. This website

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and clicks on playmadestudio.com. It sets two first-party cookies (_ga and one starting _ga_) and records which pages and buttons are used. We switch off advertising features: ad storage, ad user data and ad personalisation are denied, and Google Signals is off. We do not build advertising profiles. The checkout page and the thank-you page do not load Google Analytics.

If you email us, we keep the email and your reply to answer you and to keep a record of the order.

3. Buying from us

Paddle is our Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your payment details, name, email and billing address, works out tax and issues the invoice. Paddle is responsible for that data under its own privacy notice. We receive the details we need to run your order: your name, email, the country and the amount. We do not receive your card number.

4. Demo games

A demo game is a sample built for a shop and shown at play.playmadestudio.com. When someone plays a demo, the game sends events to our own server (hosted on Cloudflare). Each event has:

  • the name of the event, such as a game starting or an order served;
  • a random identifier made when the page loads, which is not linked to a person or kept between visits;
  • how long the game has been played;
  • the IP address, browser type and country of the device, which our server sees on every request.

We use this to see how a demo is played and to make the game better. We do not use it for advertising.

If a shop owner presses "I'm interested" and fills in the form, we receive what they type, usually a way to reach them and a message, and we use it to reply. If a player reaches the high-score table, the game asks for a name to show on it. The name, score, game mode and country are stored. We do not store the IP address with a score. Please use a nickname and not your real name. Children should not type a real name. If you want a name removed, write to us and we will remove it.

5. Games we host for shops

After a shop subscribes, its game runs at the shop's own link or web address. These games can be played by children, and we design them so that players do not have to give an email address, an account or any contact details. The game reports how it is used to Google Analytics 4 with advertising features denied and no user identifier. A game with a high-score table stores the nickname a player types, the score, the game mode and the country, as in section 4. We do not store the IP address with a score.

We do not sell this data, use it for advertising or use it to profile players. We delete a shop's game data within 30 days after its game goes offline.

6. Children

Our games are made for whole families, so children play them. We do not knowingly ask a child for an email address, phone number, address or other contact details, and the games have no chat or accounts. If you are a parent or guardian and you think a child has typed their name or other details into a game, write to us and we will delete it.

7. Contacting shops

We find businesses whose ice cream shops might like a game, using public information: their Google Maps listing, their website and their public social media pages. We keep the business contact details we find, such as a shop's name, address, email address and social media page, in our own records. We use them to write to the shop about a game. Our emails contain a small image that tells us if the email was opened. That records the time, the type of device and the approximate location from the IP address. If you would rather we did not contact you, tell us and we will stop and keep a note so that we do not contact you again.

To make a demo we use photographs from a shop's public listing and website as references for the artwork. We do not publish them. We use a real person's likeness in a game only with that person's consent.

8. Who else handles data for us

  • Cloudflare: hosting, our game server and database, file storage and email delivery.
  • Google: Google Analytics, the Maps and Places listings we read, and Gemini, which generates images.
  • Anthropic: Claude, an AI assistant that helps us write and organise our work.
  • ElevenLabs: music for the games.
  • Paddle: payments, tax and invoices, as described above.
  • Payoneer: paying us, so it does not receive players' or buyers' data.

These providers work in many countries, so data may be handled outside the country where you live. We choose providers that protect it, and we share only what each one needs.

9. How long we keep it

We keep demo and game events and scores while the demo or game is live, and we delete a shop's game data within 30 days after its game goes offline. We keep records of orders as long as tax law requires. We keep the details of a shop we contact until it asks us to remove them or we no longer think it is relevant.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to how we use it, or complain to your data protection authority. Write to [email protected]. We will answer within 30 days.

11. Security

Data is stored with the providers above under access controls. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell those affected if a breach puts them at risk, as the law requires.

12. Changes

We will change this policy if what we do changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
